It's really disconcerting to know how some of the public disregard the less fortunate. Special children and adults alike, the mentally sick, the paralyzed and the disabled. What gives them the right to be misjudged and treated poorly? Their disorders? Their disabilities? Their looks?I hear people laugh about people suffering Down Syndrome at times. I was at the library, and I heard a couple of students laughing over the front page of a book which I found out to be a picture of a Down Syndrome patient. The book described the characteristics and the disabilities of a Down patient. I can't help but think, instead of wasting precious time mocking the looks of a Down Syndrome person, couldn't they at least open the book and learn more about them? I'm sorry for being harsh on what I'm going to say next, but those insolent brats deserve to be called stupid. Yes, stupid. And rude, and irresponsible. People talk about having hearts of gold constantly. A beautiful heart and whatnot. But they don't understand that beauty isn't just about looks and how perfect your nose is, or how nicely arched your eyebrows are. Beauty doesn't mean a thing if you're out there condemning the misfortunate and mistreating those with mental and physical disorders. Because for all it stands for, that jewel in you is nothing but worthless and faded if all you do is slander their differences as their own. Please remember that neither they, or their parents asked for them to be born in such a way. They're innocent and as pure as glass. Let's all make a difference in the way they are being treated. Speak up in a way or two. They're one of us, the people of this world. No other difference. Don't wait for a change. Be the change. Labels: appreciation, change, life, people |
Kaleidoscope of Craziness
I write to change, to express, to share. All pictures are mine, unless stated. Enjoy roaming around ;) Some people are destined to sing. To act. To host a talk show. To become a songwriter for recording artistes. To take phenomenal pictures from around the world. To teach. To heal and to nurse. To be in an orchestra or to play an instrument by the streets to entertain the weary passerbys. Everyone is destined to be an individual who'll change the lives of others someday in their own unique way to touch hearts and heal broken ones. Everyone has a destiny, a road to walk and a path to remember when you're old and sitting by the fireplace, reminiscing the old times. I believe mine, is to write. FOLLOW INSTAGRAM TWITTER Tweets
