Hello loves! So today on this Holiday Wednesday, I have decided to make beef lasagna. Inspired by Pam's mum, and also by my hunger and longing for fatty food. Haha. It's surprisingly easy to make, and I definitely will be making more of these in the food future! First attempt today, and it turned out well :)

Here's a few ingredients I used (and you can too!):

Butter, grated cheese and milk (full fat or low fat, as you please) for the White Sauce

1 medium onion (chopped), 1 large shallot (chopped), 1 and a half bowl of minced beef, 1 bowl oh chopped mushrooms
for the beef sauce

Tomato puree for the beef sauce, Prego Cheese and Herbs Spaghetti cream for the alternating layers on the lasagna

For the white sauce:

Melt half a bar of butter.
Whisk the melted butter with 3 tablespoons of corn starch (not included in the pictures, sorry) till it's smooth and thick.
Slowly add half a carton of milk (depending on the quantity of monsters you're gonna feed).
Stir it, let the sauce bubble for 5 minutes.
Add salt and pepper to taste. (oh and you can add the grated cheese too!)
Store it in a container, wrap a plastic wrap around to prevent a skin from forming.
Leave it to cool at room temperature.

For the beef sauce:

Saute the onion and shallot till golden brown (it smells heavenly!)
Pour the whole tin of tomato puree into the pan.
Add two cups of water, or more (you can use the tin and fill it up with water, that way the remaining tomato puree can be drained together along with the water)
Stir till it bubbles!
Add the minced beef and mushrooms.
A dash of salt and pepper to taste.
Stir again until it's cooked. (if you stop stirring, the bubbling sauce will squirt out of your pan onto the walls, it's bound to be messy)
p/s use low heat.

Assembling of Lasagna!

Beef sauce at the bottom of the baking pan, spread evenly.
Layer with the lasagna strips (straight from the box, no pre-cooking required)
Alternate Prego Cheese and Herbs Spaghetti sauce with the beef sauce above each lasagna sheet.
Sprinkle grated cheese on each layer (regardless of the sauce. The cheesy-er the merrier!)
Last layer: beef sauce.
Now this is where you pour your white sauce over the beef sauce, and spread it evenly.
Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese.

Baking time :)

Pop the lasagna into the preheated oven at 300 degrees.
Let it bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
Bubbling cheese is a sign it's ready!
Poke a fork into the lasagna to check if it's cooked (if fork comes out sticky it's not yet cooked, add 5 minutes to baking period)

Now, all you have to do is wait till the oven rings, and your lasagna is ready!
